After months of Luella wanting and asking to become an ballerina, Luella went to her very first Ballet class at Westfield Carindale today with Queensland Ballet. Oh how sweet it was to see all the little girls in their tutus! I was expecting some inappropriate bum wiggles and some glorious nose picking from Luella. But she was absloutely besotted by her teacher and her beautiful long legs. It was so lovely to see that Luella stood there with her head nice and high and listened very carefully to her instructions. My baby girl is growing up and she looked absloutely sweet. We love Ballet! Ballet is a great way to encourage children to develop imagination, coordination, strength and confidence.
After class we headed over to get some sushi at Luella’s request and we came across the Carindale Championships.
Carindale Westfield is bringing fun these school holidays as they host the prestigious tennis tournament, The Carindale Championships. Perfectly to match with the UK’s famous Wimbledon! Luella got to play Mini Tennis, coloured in some tennis pictures, tested her back hand skills at Virtual Tennis. Emily chowed down on Strawberries and Cream which were complimentary. Winning! There were also a creative tennis sock art workshop for the kids (Please note that bookings are essential for this activity).
And for the big kids (parents, duh!) you can also embrace the Wimbledon spirit at the complimentary Capi x Pimms Bar in The Glasshouse 7th – 10th July. Boom! Who’s coming with me?
You can find the Carindale Champsionships in the Centre Court and The Glasshouse dining precinct and all activities are free. and the Strawberries and Cream Station and Virtual Tennis will run from 5pm – 8pm on Thursday nights.
