All my life I was wearing hearing aids to assist with my deafness. I was never quite satisfied with the level of hearing I was given with hearing aids and I always craved for more.
Going into adulthood, I knew it was time to take the leap and try the wonderful device called the Cochlear Implant. But I would have not been able to afford to do it, if it wasn’t for my Private Health Insurance.
There were so many medical bills leading up to the operation with MRI scans, audiologist appointments, and right through to rehabilitation. My Private Health Cover meant I avoided longpublic hospital waiting lists. I was able choose my surgeon and to stay in a private room while I recovered from my Cochlear Implant surgery. More importantly, I was able to claim money back on non-Medicare health services on follow up appointments with speech therapists and audiologists. I love and value my private health insurance because of my Cochlear Implant.
Now, I can hear more than ever before and I wouldn’t change it one bit.
